We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to be an integral part of building a world-class analytics team by working cross-functionally with business subject matter experts, analytics, and product engineering teams to architect, design, and implement our Data Warehouse model and turn it into a competitive advantage. This person will be a member of the Business Intelligence team and have an opportunity to build a sound data foundation from the ground up using DataOps principles and create processes that are flexible and will scale with the company’s rapid growth. They will have ownership of ClickFunnels’ overall architecture, data integration, and operational excellence while participating in an Agile environment.

In this role you’ll make an impact by….

  • Partnering with Data Engineers, domain experts, Data Analysts, and product engineering to build foundational data sets that are accessible, timely, accurate, well understood, and aligned with business strategy
  • Being a champion of the overall strategy for data governance, security, privacy, quality and retention that will satisfy business policies and requirements
  • Owning and documenting data pipelines and data lineage
  • Utilizing DataOps principles as your foundation to identify, document, and promote best practices and standards
  • Designing data warehouse solutions using dimensional methodologies to support ETL processes and data analytics applications
  • Developing, implementing, and tuning ETL processes
  • Writing and tuning SQL including database queries, DDL, and DML
  • Driving our data platform and helping to evolve our technology stack
  • Developing testing proven practices including unit, integration, and regression testing with an eye towards automating as much as possible
  • Working with the Business Intelligence Team to provide our business partners the data they need to make efficient and effective decisions with a focus on increasing self-service capabilities
  • Supporting and maintaining Dev/Test/Prod environments to meet business delivery specifications and needs
  • Assisting with ad-hoc report generation and data analysis for customers as needed
  • Mentoring and coaching more junior data engineers

We are looking for individuals with….

  • Expert level SQL skills
  • 7 years experience in database technologies (i.e., Postgres, MySQL ,SQL Server, Oracle, RedShift etc.)
  • 5 years or more of experience in Data Warehousing
  • Knowledge of BI tools, complicated queries, database structures, and programming languages
  • Experience creating and maintaining automated data pipelines; Deep understanding of dimensional modeling techniques; Working knowledge of data quality approaches and techniques including DataOps principles
  • High initiative and self-motivation
  • The ability to influence flawless execution through the entire team
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to take complex information and communicate it clearly
  • Ability to identify and seek needed information (research skills)

We’ll see it a bonus if you also have….

  • Working knowledge of DataVault 2.0
  • Working knowledge of WhereScape or similar automation tool
  • Experience with S3/Redshift
  • API development experience 
  • The ability to work within an Agile development process
  • Experience on a team in a private equity-backed environment that has experienced rapid revenue and employee growth
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering discipline
